Underrated Senior DL Xavier Brooks Lands First Offer From Coach Prime

Laguna Beach senior defensive lineman Xavier Brooks landed his first college football offer from Colorado just before the start of his senior season.

The 6'2", 270-pound Class of 2027 prospect received a call from Colorado head coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, who personally offered Brooks before Laguna Beach's season opener.

For Brooks, it was a big moment in his recruitment. After entering his senior year without an offer, his first opportunity came from a Power Four program.

Following Laguna Beach's game against Yorba Linda on Friday night, Brooks was asked about his plans for wrestling season and whether he would be returning to the 215-pound weight class. His response came with a laugh.

“No, Coach Sanders wants me to keep bulking up,” Brooks said.

Brooks is now focused on his senior football season while continuing to add size. With Colorado becoming the first program to offer, the Laguna Beach senior will look to build on the momentum as his final high school season gets underway.
